Illusion of Reality

What is real what is not, I sometime wonder while looking at the stars.

For when I look around me, some make me happy some leave scars.

But when I close my eyes,

I can look beyond the lies,

When they are keen,

And when they only look sheen.

Maybe deep inside we feel like a nobody,

But we compensate it with an illusion of reality.

I start my day with a smile on my face,

They see me walk with poise and grace.

I learnt these skills with years of training,

But I don't just believe what is bright and shining.

The more you talk to the people around you,

The less you know them and the less they know you,

Because what we do is pass our time,

And thank our lucky starts when the words rhyme.

When I close my eyes late at night,

I see whats wrong and I see what's right,

Some prayers that reach me,

From a staunch devotee,

His kind eyes,

And the reason for her lies.

I haven't heard them, smelt them or even tasted them,

Then why do I feel them although my eyes don't see them.

Is it real if I see it,

Or is it bitter if I taste it? Can I jump into faith,

Or is it just a bait?

Do I trust when I feel it,

Or just get hold of it and peel it?

I know not what is real or what is reality,

Because when I close my eyes I feel so true maybe that is reality.
